After the release of Quest Diagnostics latest Drug Testing Index, it is clear - positivity rates for illicit drugs are up across the board.
The news of Alex Rodriguez's violation of performance enhancing drugs made news nationwide. Rodriguez did not actually test positive but was found guilty by the board for evasion tactics. Rodriguez has been suspended from the sport and has recently announced his impending retirement. Just as a worldwide crackdown on drug use reveals more and more athletes who are abusing - job candidates are failing the tests as well.
Candidates who tested positive for illicit drug use was up by 5.7% in the first half of 2012. The most common drug of abuse was marijuana followed by amphetamines.
